Yes. Easy IP-Switch is free, with no ads, no account and no paid version. A donation via PayPal is possible to support development, but it is entirely optional.
On Windows, yes: the app requests elevation at launch, because changing a network adapter is a protected operation. On macOS, authorisation is requested each time you apply a change, and you can still browse the app without privileges.
Open the Apple menu → “About This Mac”. If the “Chip” line shows Apple M1, M2, M3, M4 or later, download the Apple Silicon version. If the “Processor” line mentions Intel, choose the Intel version.
Yes. The executable is not signed with a commercial certificate, so Windows may display “Windows protected your PC”. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
No. No telemetry, no account and no outbound connection other than the pings you run yourself to an address on your network.
Each adapter has its own “Apply” button. If you close the app with pending changes, a window offers to apply them all, quit without applying, or stay.
Yes. Select “DHCP” on the adapter and confirm: it receives an address from the router. On Windows, your last static address stays remembered and is shown for reference.
